Alan Shalom, Partner

Alan joined Silbo Steel in 1967, after graduating from Northeastern University with a BA degree and is a founding partner in Silbo Industries, Inc. He has traveled worldwide since 1969 developing product sources. He has dedicated his career to establishing and maintaining long-term customer relationships.





Mitchell Shalom, Partner

Mitch graduated from Northeastern University in 1974 with a Master of Business degree and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering degree. After working for Texas Instruments and Union Carbide in sales and marketing, he was given an “offer he couldn’t refuse” in 1975 to join the family business. Mitch is a founding partner of Silbo Industries, Inc. and works closely with customers and suppliers in sales, marketing, and purchasing. He travels throughout the United States and all over the world to get the best possible deal for our business partners.





Howard Jakob, Partner

Howard graduated from the University of the City of New York with Bachelors and Masters degrees in 1968 and 1971. He began his career with Brout and Company (CPA’s) in 1969 and became a partner in 1976 and was elected to the Firm’s Executive Committee in 1979. Howard worked in the audit client service area specializing in trading companies in a wide spectrum of industries. In 1984, Howard joined Jeffrey Boyko at Tubular Specialties Company, which operationally merged with Silbo Steel to form Silbo Industries, Inc. in 1986. Howard is a founding partner of Silbo responsible for the firm's internal operations, administration, and finance.





Jeff Shalom, Partner

Jeff has been around the steel import business since he started visiting customers with his father, Mitchell, at the age of eleven. He graduated from the Johns Hopkins University in 1997 and from Fordham University School of Law in 2001. For the next two years, Jeff worked as a structured finance attorney at Sidley Austin LLP in New York City. Jeff joined Silbo Industries, Inc. in 2003 and became a partner in 2008. Jeff handles all aspects of purchasing, sales, and project work.
